At Edwards, The Welsh Butcher, our story has always been rooted in a deep respect for farming, food and family. This September, we were proud to begin a new chapter with the launch of our very first PGI Welsh Lamb meatballs, available in Tesco stores across Wales from 24 September 2025.
For us, this launch is about more than simply adding a new product. It is about sharing the taste and tradition of Welsh Lamb in a way that is easy for families to enjoy. Welsh Lamb has long been celebrated for its richness and depth of flavour, and we are delighted to bring that heritage to a convenient family favourite. These meatballs are perfect for quick weekday meals but carry with them a sense of occasion, a reminder of the quality and identity that Welsh produce brings to the table.
As our Managing Director Simon James puts it:
“This launch represents 12 months of hard work from the Edwards team and our producers, and we are thrilled to finally be adding Welsh Lamb products to our range. These meatballs are perfect for quick mid week suppers and can be served in so many different ways, making them a great choice for the whole family.”
The launch has been warmly welcomed by Hybu Cig Cymru, Meat Promotion Wales, who see this as an important step in helping more families cook and enjoy Welsh Lamb at home.
