Asparagus spears wrapped in bacon makes a lovely side or starter for a garden dinner party and is really fun to do with the kids.

This is a gorgeously simple asparagus spear recipe using our Oak Smoked Dry Cured Bacon slices that works brilliantly in the oven or on the BBQ.

Our Oak Smoked Dry Cured Bacon is cured traditionally by hand and smoked using oak chippings for an unrivalled smoky flavour.

When it comes to pork, we source only the finest cuts of Red Tractor British Pork. This gives the meaty taste our customers love.

Ingredients

  • 5 Edwards Oak Smoked Bacon rashers
  • 20 asparagus spears
  • Olive oil

Cooking Instructions

  • Snap the woody ends off of your asparagus spears and mix it with a little olive oil, salt and pepper
  • Then wrap 3-4 asparagus spears in a rasher of Edwards bacon and either grill on a BBQ for a few minutes a side or roast in the oven at 200°C / 180°C Fan / Gas Mark 6 for 15-18 minutes
  • Ensure that the bacon is cooked throughout
